We are a not-for-profit organisation that relies on volunteers to ensure our work in the community can continue. Whilst we do receive funding from the Commonwealth Government, it is not sufficient to cover all our administrative costs and the purchase of new tools and equipment.
By donating to Easy Care Gardening you are supporting our work in enabling older people in our community to maintain safe and sustainable gardens at home, living fulfilled lives at home for longer.
Thank you for supporting our essential service. Without you, our important work would not be possible.

You could also show us what you did to pass the time during Earth Hour as you switch off your electricity.

This year’s theme was ‘The Change Makers’ and incredibly, ECG has been living this theme since 1988. The hard work from our volunteers to make a difference to the lives of our clients every day is testament to this.

You have probably been told many times before that you need to respect your elders. In fact, this is a phrase that most children hear throughout their lives! Senior Citizens Day is all about respecting your elders. It is about honoring those people who have been on this earth longer than we have. Getting old is not easy. It can be very difficult to deal with, and that is why we all need to make sure that we are there for our grandparents and older people in general. That’s what this day essentially celebrates.
After all, seniors bring so much to the world! They offer their experience, their wisdom, and their knowledge. Our older friends and family have a lifetime’s worth of incredible experiences and tales to share with us. For centuries, cultures across the globe have looked to older people in the communities in order to provide them with knowledge and wisdom. In times of trouble or when we need some advice and direction, we can always rely on older people to impart their great wisdom on us.
It is also important to recognise that there are a lot of seniors who are incredibly lonely. A great way of celebrating this day is to say hello to that older neighbour who may live alone or spend some time with a charity who focuses on local seniors in the community, such as Easy Care Gardening.
International Day of Charity on September 5th encourages organisations and individuals to help others. As we celebrate this day we recognise the incredible work, commitment and acts of kindness, from our volunteers and partners as we work together to help our older community

The UN recognizes that volunteering and philanthropic work provides social bonding while creating resilient societies. Giving to those in need helps to alleviate the worst effect of humanitarian crises.
While you can’t possibly help everyone, you can do your part by helping someone. The International Day of Charity is a great time to do just that. As the saying goes, “it’s better to give than to receive.”
There are many ways to celebrate the International Day of Charity. You could give to a food pantry or run a food bank outside your local grocery store or sponsor a child living in poverty. Supporting Easy Care Gardening by giving just 3 hours of your time to volunteering is another way to celebrate.
Chances are, you won’t have to go too far to help someone in need. That person in need might be your next-door neighbor or the homeless person you’ve seen at the train station. Whoever they are, today is a great day to give.
Celebrated on the 10th of October, the overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.
Good mental health is vital to our overall health and well-being. Yet one in eight people globally are living with mental health conditions, which can impact their physical health, their well-being, how they connect with others, and their livelihoods. Mental health conditions are also affecting an increasing number of adolescents and young people.
World Kindness Day 2024 is an event held annually on November 13. The goal of this international celebration is simple: make kindness the standard instead of the exception.
In 1997, like-minded international kindness organizations gathered in Tokyo, Japan, to form the World Kindness Movement (WKM), which launched the first World Kindness Day on November 13, 1998. Their goal was to create an annual event that promotes altruistic acts—big or small—and showcases how simple yet meaningful they can be.
Celebrations often include setting aside time to perform random acts of kindness, creating new ways to pay it forward, and connecting individuals to causes that need their generosity. World Kindness Day is a time to pause and remember that kindness can heal and transform communities.
We are excited to announce the launch of our Summer Social Gardening Program, running from December 2024 to January 2025.
This is a wonderful opportunity make the most of the summer break with a sense of purpose, and to remain socially connected during a time when many experience a level of isolation. This program also aims to continue to support our older clients with their gardens over the holiday period.

Our achievements to date wouldn’t be possible without the invaluable support of corporate businesses and local councils.
Together, we can continue to connect volunteers to the community and help make a difference to the lives of older people.
