Client Service Feedback & Complaints

Help us plan for the needs of all clients and deliver a quality service now and in the future

As an organisation funded by the federal government under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), the clients’ feedback on the standard of services provided by ECG is an essential input into both government and our organisation’s decision-making.

To help us plan for the needs of all clients and deliver a quality service now and in the future, we are seeking your feedback on various aspects of our gardening service. Your assistance in completing and returning the Feedback Form here would be most appreciated.

General Feedback & Complaints

Over recent months, we invited feedback so clients and volunteers could share their experiences.

Why this is important – Your feedback helps us:

  • understand what you value
  • improve our services
  • make sure we are supporting you in the best possible way

Please be reassured:

  • Giving feedback or making a complaint will not affect your service
  • Your feedback is treated respectfully and confidentially
  • We welcome both positive feedback and concerns

FAQs

How can I use your service?

All new clients need to first apply for a referral for Easy Care Gardening through My Aged Care (Department of Health and Aged Care). Simply contact My Aged Care on the free call number 1800 200 422. When Easy Care Gardening has a spot available, an Application Form will be posted to you.

Do you service other suburbs outside the Hornsby Shire, Ku‑ring‑gai, Hunter’s Hill and Ryde local government areas (LGA’s)?

Unfortunately, no, only the suburbs within those 4 LGA’s.

What are the benefits of mulching and do I need it in my garden?

Mulching offers significant benefits to Sydney gardens by reducing moisture loss by up to 25%, suppressing weed growth, regulating soil temperature, and improving soil structure as organic materials break down. While highly recommended for hot summers and reducing watering, not all gardens need it. We will assess the garden and let you know if we recommend it in your garden.

For Tips on the benefits of mulching click here.

Can I also have my lawn mowed?

Currently, we are unable to offer lawn mowing to new clients or recommend lawn mowing contractors.

How much does the service cost?

Costs vary and are provided on application with the service. Easy Care Gardening operates under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). ECG is a subsidised service and clients are expected to contribute towards the cost of any CHSP service they receive. For more information contact us on (02) 9983 1644.

Why do you use volunteers?

Back in 1988 three community-spirited people started to assist an elderly neighbour with her garden. Soon enough the idea spread and after 6 months volunteers were looking after the gardens of 30 clients.

From these simple beginnings, Easy Care Gardening grew into the organisation it is today, servicing over 1,000 gardens a year.

We have over 300 volunteers and this is what sets Easy Care Gardening apart from other gardening services.  A service delivered by volunteers has a different “feel” to it – our volunteers are here because they want to make a positive difference. They bring energy, generosity, and community spirit with them every time they garden. Our service also more affordable as savings on labour costs can be passed on to our clients.
